Star ratings visible on page but no AggregateRating schema

AggregateRating is schema (structured data) that tells search and AI engines the numeric rating and review count behind the star icons visible on your page. This check found visible star ratings on your site with no matching AggregateRating schema behind them, so the stars a person sees aren't backed by any machine-readable data.

Why this matters

Without this schema, Google may not show your star rating as a rich result in search, where eligible pages can display star ratings. The ratings are visible to human visitors but not machine-readable. Google's review snippet guidelines also apply, for example restrictions on self-serving reviews for some types of business.

How to fix it

Your developer needs about 1 hour. Add AggregateRating JSON-LD, including ratingValue, reviewCount and bestRating, nested inside the relevant parent schema for your business, such as Product, LocalBusiness or Service. Validate the result with Google's Rich Results Test. This is a genuinely quick win, since the reviews already exist; only the structured data connecting them to search is missing.
