Employer Brand Audit

Glassdoor ratings, careers page conversion, EVP clarity, LinkedIn employer presence, and hiring transparency signals.

An employer brand audit reviews the public signals a candidate can see before applying: careers-page clarity, EVP (Employee Value Proposition), hiring transparency, leadership visibility, and external employer-profile presence. It does not claim to measure the internal employee experience.

Scope note. This audit reviews public candidate-facing and employer-profile signals. It does not measure internal employee experience, culture, retention, or HR systems that are not publicly observable.

Hiring Transparency

Visible signals such as salary range language, no salary-history questions, AI-in-hiring disclosure where relevant, and human-review statements.

Specific check definitions, regex patterns, and severity rubrics are not published. The output is a verified, evidence-backed report - not a methodology document.

Three things that quietly cost you customers.

Candidates can research your public employer presence before applying.

Review the careers page and public employer profiles for accurate, current information. They can help candidates understand the role and company, but do not measure internal culture or establish why a candidate applies.

A vague EVP loses you to specific competitors.

"Great culture, competitive benefits, opportunity to grow" describes almost every job posting. Strong employer brands say specific things: "We ship to production every week", "No one works after 6pm", "Annual learning budget included". Specificity converts; abstractions evaporate.

An unanswered 2-star Glassdoor review is a public referral against you.

Public reviews may raise questions for candidates. A substantive employer response can acknowledge a concern and explain the next step, while protecting reviewer privacy. It cannot establish that the underlying issue is resolved.

Glassdoor profile unclaimed, 3.2 average rating, zero employer responses

Evidence

Glassdoor lists the company with 24 reviews averaging 3.2 stars. The profile is unclaimed (no verified employer status). Of the 11 reviews at 1-3 stars, zero have an employer response. Recent reviews mention "no career growth" and "leadership doesn't communicate" - both unaddressed.

Recommended fix

1) Claim the Glassdoor profile (free; verify with company email). 2) Add company description, photos, benefits. 3) Respond to every 1-3 star review with a substantive, non-defensive reply. 4) Set up alerts on new reviews. 5) Internally, address the leadership communication concern surfaced in reviews.

Business impact

An accurate profile and thoughtful responses can give candidates more context. Measure candidate feedback and application behaviour directly; a rating change alone does not establish more applications, saved recruitment fees, or a financial return.

Fictional example of the evidence, fix and impact structure. It is not a current report or a finding about your site.

Questions, answered.

What buyers ask before running their first employer brand audit.

Careers page accessibility and conversion design, whether real leadership and team members are visible, external employer profiles (Glassdoor, Indeed, LinkedIn) including claimed status and response rates, how specific and credible your EVP is, and hiring transparency signals like salary range language.

A scored employer brand section with evidence for every finding - the unclaimed profile, the unanswered review, the vague EVP language - and a prioritised fix list. The free scan samples selected public signals in six result categories in about 60 seconds; the full report takes about 30 minutes.

Yes. The audit weights Glassdoor less for sub-50-person companies (often few reviews) and weights LinkedIn presence and careers page quality more. The principles apply at every size - just the leverage points shift.
