Why this matters

Generic diversity statements are common, so some candidates may discount them. Measurable commitments, such as a specific target, a named programme or published progress data, give candidates evidence that the commitment is backed by action.

How to fix it

Replace or supplement generic statements with at least one concrete example of what you are actually doing. This could be a hiring target, a named employee resource group, a partnership with a diversity organisation, or reported progress data from a previous year.
