Video content lacks og:video Open Graph meta

og:video is an Open Graph tag, a piece of hidden code that tells platforms like Facebook, LinkedIn and WhatsApp what to show when someone shares your page link. This check found actual video content on the page, such as an embedded YouTube, Wistia or Vimeo player or a native video element, but no matching og:video tag describing it.

Why this matters

Without og:video, a shared link to this page may render as a plain text-and-image card rather than a video preview on some platforms. Platform support for og:video varies, and some no longer play inline video from shared links. Some marketing studies report higher engagement on shared links with video previews, but results vary, so test with your own audience.

How to fix it

Your marketing team should add four Open Graph tags for each primary video on the page: og:video, og:video:type, og:video:width and og:video:height. This is a small addition to the page's existing meta tags and takes about 30 minutes once the video's file details are known.
